A Change in Strategy — Looking at User Needs to Make a Needed Shift for WVU.edu.
“Do You Have My Major?”
Our team redesigned and rebuilt the WVU homepage using both qualitative and quantitative research to align with the University’s goals and diverse audience needs. A key priority was making it easier for prospective students to access admissions information. The most frequent question we heard from students and parents was, “Do you have my major?” In response, we developed a comprehensive major search tool, new major-specific pages, and major maps that provide details on research opportunities and potential career paths. This information is powered by a new content database, allowing it to be seamlessly updated and shared across various WVU sites without manual duplication.
